IMAX SELECTS ACCESS INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGIES' NEW WORLDWIDE THEATRICAL DISTRIBUTION SOFTWARE

MORRISTOWN, N.J., Dec 04, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Access Integrated Technologies, Inc. ("AccessIT") (Nasdaq: AIXD) announced today that IMAX Corp. has selected its Global Theatrical Distribution System, or TDS Global software solution, to manage IMAX's theatrical releases worldwide.

TDS Global, the newest theatrical release management application developed by AccessIT, is designed to expand its existing domestic movie distribution capabilities to handle distribution in major movie markets around the world. AccessIT has been developing TDS Global over the past two years in conjunction with Fox International a unit of Fox Entertainment Group, Inc. and the solution is now ready for deployment at IMAX.

TDS Global will give IMAX the ability to manage its extensive international distribution operations from a single database located in its Santa Monica, California offices. AccessIT will host the IMAX solution and provide system monitoring and support.

The domestic version of TDS has become the industry standard distribution software system, used by four of the seven major studios and many independent distributors over the past eight years to plan, book, distribute, account for and track prints to all 37,000 screens throughout the United States and Canada. TDS Global will provide the same functionality for efficiently managing movie releases throughout the world, ultimately addressing 28 territories and more than 105,000 screens that show feature movies.

"We are very excited at the opportunity of working with IMAX to update and automate their unique distribution operations. AccessIT is the leader in theatrical enterprise applications and our new TDS Global solution is a critical component in our theatrical and digital cinema systems strategy," said Jim Miller, President of AccessIT's Software Division.

"With more than 280 theaters in 40 countries, we needed a single, reliable software solution to manage our worldwide distribution network and help us expand our global footprint. TDS Global provides us with that solution today and will support IMAX in the future as we begin to roll out new digital projection systems," said Phil Groves, Senior Vice President, Film Distribution & Development, Filmed Entertainment, of IMAX.

Access Integrated Technologies, Inc. (AccessIT) is the industry leader in providing fully integrated software and services to enable the motion picture entertainment industry and all of its constituents to transition from film to digital cinema.
